“I was crowned Queen Esther in March 1952 at the Jewish Community Center in Providence. Among a few gifts there was a free trip to Grossinger’s Resort in New York. It had to be used within a year. After consideration, my boyfriend, Barry Cohen, and I decided it would make a great honeymoon. He was 20 and I was 19. We married the first day of spring, March 21, 1953. We have four children and four grandchildren and will celebrate our 63rd wedding anniversary this Purim.”
