Phyllis Berry, 87

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. –Phyllis Robinson Berry, of Tockwotton on the Waterfront, passed away on Dec. 17 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Joslin Berry. Born July 29, 1929, a daughter of the late Sara Robinson Brier and the late Judge Maurice Robinson, she was a lifelong resident of the Providence area.

 

She graduated from Hope High School and the University of Rhode Island and was active in many organizations including the Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood, Hadassah, National Council of Jewish Women, Jewish Seniors Agency of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Jewish Historical Association. Phyllis created a loving home and family life and was an extraordinary friend to many.

She is survived by her daughters Maurisa (Risy) Goldberg and Joanie Berry (Karen Sawislak), grandchildren Elizabeth and Joshua Horen, and other family members. She was stepdaughter of the late Benjamin Brier.
