Maurice Applebaum, 84

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Maurice Applebaum died March 22.  He was the husband of the late Roslyn (Schwartz) Applebaum, his high school sweetheart, to whom he was married for 42 years.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Harry and Rose (Steiner) Applebaum.

In his youth, he worked for his father at Applebaum’s Restaurant. He worked for MetLife for 40 years before retiring in 1994. After retiring, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Butler Hospital. He was a long time member of Temple Beth-El and Touro Fraternal.

He is survived by his children, Richard Applebaum and his partner Hillary Shulman-Lampell, and Linda Haumann and her husband David; his grandchildren, Marc and Rebecca Haumann; his brother-in-law, Morris Schwartz and his wife Barbara, and his sister-in-law, Dotty Schwartz.
